35 Years of Making A Difference to Young People

As you may know, Northwest Youth Corps was created 35 years ago to provide youth with an opportunity to earn money, and develop work skills and stewardship ethics.

This year, 954 youth and field staff earned nearly $3 million, as well as high school credit and scholarships, as they carried out 155,000 hours of conservation projects across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. More importantly, these youth and young adults learned how to use their skills and knowledge to positively impact their own lives as well as their communities, now and in the future.

You play a vital part, as we look ahead towards our next 35 years!

We at Northwest Youth Corps and Idaho Conservation Corps are starting a Technology Upgrade Campaign to build capacity in our youth development programs in the Northwest and the Gem State.

  • New tablets will allow us to replace our old hand-written timesheets and project records with electronic forms - saving time and money!
  • New tablets will help young adults improve their skills through the use of industry grade software as well as support Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals to participate in our program.
  • The replacement of our outdated phone system and computer servers will make it possible for us to add new staff, and improve customer service and campus safety, and
  • New video-conferencing equipment will help our staff collaborate across a three-state region.

In short, we can better serve youth and families through our Technology Upgrade Campaign! Please join me in making a generous gift so that we can continue to enhance the lives of thousands of young people through education and employment in the next 35 years and beyond!

Warmly,

Jeff Parker
Executive Director
