NYC buys Greenplus chain saw bar oil

Northwest Youth Corps has just taken delivery on our first barrel of Greenplus chain saw bar oil. Greenplus is made in Canada from canola oil. Greenplus bar oil costs more than regular petroleum-based bar oil, however it is rapidly biodegradable, made from renewable resources, and is environmentally safe.

NYC’s believes that the actions of adults provide the model that our youth will follow in life.  Our purchase of this product is simply one more small step toward assuring our programs offer a positive model for youth to follow.

What is bar oil? The chain saw engine powers a cutting chain that moves at high speed around the saw bar. Bar oil lubricates the cutting chain. Without bar oil, the bar would overheat and the saw would freeze up. As the chain spins, some bar oil is released into the environment.

Greenplus is produced in Canada by the Greenland Corporation. For more information visit www.greenlubesplus.com.
