Northwest Youth Corps - AmeriCorps Support

Oregon Volunteers!:

Oregon Volunteers! (OV!) - Oregon Commission for Voluntary Action & Service promotes and supports AmeriCorps, volunteerism and civic engagement to strengthen Oregon communities through the award of an AmeriCorps grant called Helping Youth Learn (HYL). With the assistance of OV!, NYC places six AmeriCorps members in the NYC Outdoor High School and three other members in Rural, Lane County Schools. To learn more about OV! visit their website at www.oregonvolunteers.org.

The Corps Network:

The Corps Network promotes growth, quality, and sustainability of Corps and their members. There vision is for well-funded, high-quality Corps programs to serve every community. The Corps Network assists Service and Conservation Corps to provide a wealth of valuable conservation, infrastructure improvement and human service projects. The Corp Network helps NYC provide our members with the chance to change their communities, their own lives and those of their families. NYC is supported by two different Corps Network grants including a Corps Respond program where ten members study in and teach disaster preparedness and response. NYC's second Corps Network grant provides various youth, young adults, and adults with the opportunity to receive AmeriCorps funded Education Awards after serving in select NYC programs. To learn more about The Corps Network visit their website at www.corpsnetwork.org.

Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute:

Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute (PCEI) increases citizen involvement in environment issues through community organizing and education to promote a sustainable future. Through the promotion of ecological health and social welfare of the Palouse-Clearwater region, PCEI and NYC actively participate in conservation, preservation, and restoration of environmentally sensitive lands, natural areas, and unique ecosystems. PCEI supports NYC’s Arizona/Idaho Leadership Development Program (LDP). LDP integrates team-based work projects, education, and on-site technical training into a curriculum that emphasizes leadership growth, and the development of conservation work skills. To learn more about PCEI visit their website at http://www.pcei.org/.
