For over 25 years Northwest Youth Corps has worked on conservation, reforestation and other land management projects.Since 1984, NYC has helped more than 17,000 youth and young adults to learn, grow, and experience success through environmentally-related service learning. Each year, more than 65 NYC crews benefit from over 71,000 hours of education, 186,000 project hours and complete more than 400 weeks of conservation projects for more than 100 project partners.
Media coverage for some of the work completed by crews over the last decade can be viewed in the links at the right. However, much remains to be done. While working outdoors in the wilderness areas of the northwest has the distinct benefit of beautiful scenery and fresh air- it does not lend itself to coverage by the media. If you know of someone that would like to interview, write a story, or just generally spread the word about NYC, let us know. We would be happy to talk with them.
